Ali Akbar Alvandian discussed the production status of the cement industry, stating: Due to the restrictions imposed on energy sectors, we have experienced a severe decline in clinker production and have used our reserves to supply the country's cement.

Meeting the Country's Needs with Free Electricity

Alvandian added: The electricity provided to us and the amount of electricity that industries purchased freely from the energy exchange allowed us to meet the country's needs so that there would be no shortage in cement supply.

Significant Decrease in Clinker Production

He added: In clinker production, we had a 37% decrease just in July of this year. In July of last year, we produced 6.2 million tons of clinker, and this July, due to intensified electricity restrictions, production decreased to 3.8 million tons.

He continued: In the cement sector, we produced about 4.6 million tons last July, which increased to 4.95 million tons this July. In fact, by allocating a significant portion of free electricity purchases, we were able to secure part of the electricity needed for cement production to prevent a market shortage.

Review of Cement and Clinker Production in the First Four Months of This Year

The Secretary of the Cement Association regarding the total production of cement and clinker in the first four months of this year said: Clinker production in the first four months of this year was about 23 million tons, while this figure was about 26 million tons in the same period last year, indicating a decrease of about 10%. In total, we have experienced a decrease of nearly three million tons in production and have used reserves to supply the market.

Alvandian stated: In the cement sector, we have produced about 21.8 million tons in the first four months of this year, while last year about 21 million tons were produced, showing an increase of about 4%.
