Hosseyn Shamsifard announced the discovery of 40 illegal miners in Bushehr Province on Saturday morning while speaking to reporters. This discovery occurred during inspections and field monitoring from September 6 to 18 and included five cases of unauthorized use of cryptocurrency mining equipment.
Details of the Miner Discovery
In one of the identified cases in Asaluyeh County, five miners with a power consumption of 18 kilowatts were discovered in an uninhabited residential house. These devices were set up in a silent box in a room that was empty of residents.
The manager of the measuring instruments office of the Bushehr Power Distribution Company continued: In another case, two cryptocurrency mining devices with a power consumption of 9 kilowatts were identified in the bedroom of a private residence, with their electricity supplied through an unauthorized connection before the meter.
Legal Actions and Equipment Collection
Shamsifard, referring to the discovery of another miner in Bushehr County, stated: This device with a power consumption of three kilowatts was set up in an independent room in the yard of a residential unit. In coordination with the prosecutor's office, the economic security police, and the electricity affairs of the three counties of Bushehr, the electricity was cut off and the illegal equipment was collected.
He also reported the discovery of two more miners in Asaluyeh County, stating: These devices were kept in an inactive state and stored in the bedroom of a private residence, which were collected in coordination with the prosecutor's office and the county's criminal investigation police.
The manager of the measuring instruments office of the Bushehr Power Distribution Company highlighted one of the notable cases of cryptocurrency mining equipment discovery in the province, stating: In the last case, 30 miners with a power consumption of 91 kilowatts were identified in an uninhabited residential house in Borazjan. These devices were set up in a silent box, and fans and air conditioning were used for cooling, which, in coordination with judicial authorities and the economic security police of Borazjan, the electricity was cut off and the illegal devices were collected.
Shamsifard emphasized the consequences of unauthorized electricity use for cryptocurrency mining, noting: The illegal activities of miners not only impose an additional burden on the electricity network but also increase the likelihood of disruptions in electricity supply and damage to network facilities.
