Dengue fever, a viral disease that can have serious health consequences, has become one of the major challenges for public health systems. Dr. Razieh Taghrolahi, a researcher at Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, has investigated the views of 163 specialists and officials in this field in her latest research. The results of this study indicate that the main danger zone for dengue fever is small stagnant waters around us, which are easily identifiable and controllable.

Stagnant Waters, Breeding Grounds for Mosquitoes

Dr. Taghrolahi points out that mosquitoes can lay eggs in small stagnant waters such as puddles, buckets, and even water containers in home yards, emphasizing that these areas need to be carefully monitored. She believes that although eliminating mosquito habitats is not a difficult task, it requires continuous and collective action from citizens.

Citizen Participation, Key to Solving the Problem

Dr. Taghrolahi highlights the importance of active public participation in this regard, stating: "If every individual takes responsibility for their surroundings and engages in actions such as cleaning stagnant waters, we can quickly improve the situation and prevent the spread of dengue fever." This researcher also mentions the positive social and economic effects of these actions, adding: "Community health must be prioritized, and this can only be achieved through collaboration and collective participation."

Given the increasing threats of mosquito-borne diseases, Dr. Taghrolahi's words should serve as a wake-up call for all of us. Are we ready to take responsibility for maintaining community health?
