Following the recent statements of one of the Hamas officials, serious questions have been raised about the credibility of the Oslo Agreement in ending the occupation and achieving the rights of the Palestinian people. This official clearly stated that after 33 years since the signing of the Oslo Agreement, not only has the occupation not stopped, but the rights of Palestinians have also been forgotten.
The Oslo Agreement and Existing Realities
The Oslo Agreement, signed in 1993, was supposed to be a pathway to peace and an end to conflicts, but it now seems that its results have never materialized in the field. The head of Hamas's national relations emphasized that this agreement has added to the problems instead of solving them, stating that the Palestinian people continue to live in difficult conditions.
Challenges Facing the Palestinian People
This Hamas official also pointed to the challenges in the daily lives of Palestinians, saying: "We are in a situation where we face new obstacles every day. Our rights are being ignored, and the occupation continues. We are seeking real and practical solutions that not only help end the occupation but also recognize our rights."
Hamas's recent statements come at a time when the international community is still striving to find a sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue. However, it seems that these efforts have not been very successful so far, and the realities on the ground continue to overshadow the lives of Palestinians.
