Today, the roads of Mazandaran, particularly on the heavily trafficked routes of the Tehran-North Freeway and Haraz Road, have become a tangled mess for drivers due to heavy traffic and poor management. Colonel Hadi Abadi, head of the Mazandaran Traffic Police, announced the unfavorable traffic conditions and warned about the challenges drivers are facing.
Traffic on the Tehran-North Freeway
Colonel Abadi reported heavy traffic on the south to north route of the Tehran-North Freeway, stating: 'The traffic situation around Tunnel No. 18 and the stretch from the end of Alborz Tunnel to the end of the freeway is extremely heavy.' This situation not only adds delays to trips but also imposes stress and psychological pressure on drivers and passengers.
Haraz Road and Ongoing Challenges
On Haraz Road, the traffic situation is no better. Colonel Abadi announced that vehicle traffic in both directions at the Chalo intersection is also extremely heavy. These two routes, which usually see an increase in traffic volume during holidays and weekends, have created more problems for drivers due to the lack of effective solutions and suitable infrastructure.
Many drivers who have come to Mazandaran for leisure and travel are now facing long and exhausting traffic jams. In these conditions, accident statistics also significantly rise, raising concerns for families.
Consequences of Heavy Traffic
Heavy traffic not only leads to delays in reaching destinations but also brings environmental issues and air pollution.
