The head of the infectious diseases group at the Yazd Health Center announced the identification of ٩ confirmed cases of Crimean-Congo fever in Yazd province and stated that one patient has also lost their life. According to available reports, out of ٣١ confirmed cases of Crimean-Congo fever in the country, ٩ cases belong to Yazd.

Majgan Minouspehr, head of the infectious diseases group at the Yazd Health Center, said: "Last year, ١٤ confirmed cases of Crimean-Congo fever were recorded in Yazd province. This indicates that Yazd province ranks first in the country in terms of the number of infected cases." She added: "Crimean-Congo fever is transmitted through infected livestock, blood, and animal secretions, as well as contaminated meat, and it is very important for people to be cautious when buying and consuming meat."

Preventive measures and recommendations
Minouspehr advised people to refrain from buying meat from unauthorized centers and to keep meat in the refrigerator for at least ٢٤ to ٤٨ hours. Thorough cooking of meat and liver is also one of the important measures that must be observed. Additionally, she emphasized the necessity of avoiding slaughtering livestock outside of slaughterhouses and said: "This action can minimize the risks associated with disease transmission."
Crimean-Congo fever is a viral disease that can have severe complications and even lead to death. This disease generally has a higher incidence during the warm seasons of the year, and therefore, there is a need for care and prevention during this period.
