In recent days, speculations have arisen regarding the possibility of Iran's exit from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). However, two members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament emphasized that there is no news in this regard.
Kavari: The rumors are unfounded
Mahmoud Kavari, one of the parliament representatives, stated clearly that the plan to exit the NPT has not been presented to the National Security Commission at all. He added that these rumors are baseless and unrealistic, saying: "We have had no discussions on this matter, and we have not even heard of it."
Ahmadi: There is no decision-making news
On the other hand, Hassan Ahmadi, another member of the commission, reiterated Kavari's statements, clarifying that there is no decision or plan under consideration in this regard. He stated: "Even if such a matter were raised, it would need to be discussed and reviewed in the commission, but so far, no words have been said on this matter."
These statements come at a time when some media outlets and analysts are reporting the possibility of fundamental changes in Iran's nuclear policy. Nevertheless, members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament firmly emphasize the absence of such a plan.
