The county of Marand in East Azerbaijan province is proudly recognized as a pioneer in egg production. The Deputy Head of the Organization and the Director of Agricultural Jihad of Marand County announced that this county produces 21,000 tons of eggs annually, which reflects the high agricultural and livestock capacity in this region.
Production of Chicken Meat and Fertile Eggs
Additionally, Marand holds a significant position in chicken meat production with an annual output of 18,000 tons. This county also plays an important role in meeting regional food needs by producing 35 million fertile eggs. These figures not only demonstrate the agricultural capabilities of Marand but also present an economic opportunity for sustainable development in this county.
Challenges and Opportunities
However, producing this volume of eggs and chicken meat comes with challenges. The need for appropriate infrastructure, the supply of feed for livestock and poultry, and market issues are among the problems faced by farmers and livestock breeders in Marand. It seems that with more support from the government and improved economic conditions, this county can achieve greater growth and prosperity.
In recent years, Marand has become one of the important centers for livestock product production due to its geographical location and favorable climatic conditions. This not only helps improve the livelihoods of local farmers but can also lead to the development of the food industry at the provincial and national levels.
