Tehran - In an important meeting, the Governor of Tehran stressed the need to redesign the process of organizing street addicts, saying: "Collecting these individuals from the streets will only be effective when attention is also paid to their treatment and empowerment." These remarks come at a time when social problems arising from addiction have always been one of the major challenges in the capital.
The Necessity of Treatment and Skill Training
Mo'tamedian stated that merely collecting addicts without providing treatment and skill training solutions not only fails to solve the problem but may also exacerbate the crisis. He added: "We must pay attention to the fact that addicts need social and psychological support, and simply collecting them from the streets cannot achieve real recovery."
These statements come as statistics show that the number of street addicts in Tehran has significantly increased, which is a concerning issue for both society and officials. Organizing these individuals requires inter-sectoral cooperation and precise planning.

The Governor of Tehran also emphasized that organizing addicts should be done comprehensively and multidimensionally.
