In a ceremony held to commemorate the days of Ashura in Qasr-e Shirin, the commander of the IRGC of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Kermanshah province elaborated on the role of the culture of Ashura in the resistance of the Iranian nation. He stated that the culture of Ashura means confronting oppression and defending the oppressed, emphasizing: "This culture has taught the Iranian nation to stand firm against the oppression and greed of enemies."
A Support for the Progress of the Country
The commander of the IRGC referred to the positive impacts of the culture of Ashura in the history of Iran, mentioning the eight years of Sacred Defense, and said: "The spirit of resistance and steadfastness that originates from Ashura blossomed in those years among the Iranian nation and enabled the country to withstand against enemies and achieve progress." He added: "Today, this spirit can also serve as a model for future generations to stand firm against various challenges and threats."
The Necessity of Keeping the Culture of Ashura Alive
This senior IRGC official emphasized the necessity of keeping the culture of Ashura alive in society, stating: "We must pass this culture on to future generations and teach them that standing against oppression and supporting the oppressed is the duty of all of us." He also referred to the role of Islamic awakening and support for the oppressed around the world, saying: "The culture of Ashura is not only inspiring in Iran but can also serve as a guide against oppression and tyranny in other parts of the world."
