Elham Salehi, one of the para-athletes whose name has been included in the delegation list for the Para-Asian Games, has been sidelined from training due to injury, and her condition is concerning. This athlete has stopped her training for a week due to severe pain in her right arm.

Problems Caused by Injury

Elham Salehi told Mehr News Agency: "I faced an injury since last Monday. After my last training session, I felt severe pain and discomfort in my right arm. The tendon in my arm is severely inflamed, and I cannot train, which is why I have been resting for a week now."

This para-athlete emphasized: "We throwers are at a higher risk of injury, especially if we engage in training throws without rest and consecutively. In any case, I faced this injury at a bad time because I had reached a stage in my training where, due to the approaching departure time, the volume and intensity of training had decreased. The Para-Asian Games start on October 26, and I am scheduled to have my first competition on October 27, but now I am injured."

Salehi's Bright Record

Elham Salehi, who previously won one gold (shot put) and one silver and bronze (javelin throw) in two editions of the Para-Asian Games, spoke about her current condition: "Since I started training and the preparation camp, I have had very good training sessions and set good records in both throws. My goal from the beginning was to win gold in both events, but now that I am injured, the situation has changed a bit."

This athlete also mentioned her participation in the Paris Paralympics: "I won a bronze medal in javelin throw at the Paris Paralympics, and I hope to return to training so I can prepare for the Para-Asian Games."

Salehi concluded: "I will return to training soon so that I do not have any issues with my departure. I hope I can achieve the best medal color again."
