Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, has informed the government of the "National Artificial Intelligence Development Law" in accordance with Article 123 of the Constitution. This law, which was approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly on August 19, 2026, was sent to the government after being confirmed by the Guardian Council on September 25, 2026.
A Transformation in Technology
This law specifically aims to create the necessary infrastructure for the development and expansion of artificial intelligence in the country. Given the rapid growth of new technologies and the importance of artificial intelligence in all fields, the approval of such a law can be seen as a fundamental step towards increasing the country's competitiveness in the international arena.
The National Artificial Intelligence Development Law is designed to facilitate access to scientific and technical resources, establish necessary infrastructure, and support innovations in this field. However, there are many challenges in the way of implementing this law.
