The President of the United States, Donald Trump, addressed Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, requesting a halt to attacks on Russian refineries. Trump told Zelensky that these attacks have led to a shortage of diesel fuel in the United States.

Trump emphasized in his remarks: "Zelensky needs to do one thing. He must stop destroying diesel fuel in Russia. Let him target the objectives, but not the diesel fuel; because he is causing a diesel fuel shortage."

The increase in diesel fuel prices in America is clearly evident following these attacks. According to data from the American Automobile Association, the average price of diesel in the United States has reached $6.06 per gallon, compared to $5.98 the previous day and $5.85 a week ago.
Ukraine's attacks on Russian refineries
The Ukrainian army has announced that on Sunday night, two Russian oil refineries, one in the south and another about 900 kilometers east of Moscow, were targeted. These attacks on Russian oil facilities have been widely reported and have caused fuel shortages in many regions of the country.
In response to these attacks, Russia has intensified its air campaign and has used ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones to penetrate Ukraine's defense systems. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian forces shot down 389 Ukrainian drones in various regions of Russia and Crimea overnight.
Russia's claims about nuclear energy safety
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, also referred to Ukraine's attack on trucks carrying diesel fuel, stating that this action has jeopardized the safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which is under Russian control. He also mentioned that Moscow is ready to resume peace negotiations involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in the fall.
Peskov told reporters: "We do not rule out this possibility. We are clearly talking about the foreseeable future; that is, October cannot be ruled out."
