700 Recovering from Addiction in Qom are Under Treatment and Empowerment

Mortaza Heydari announced on Wednesday evening at the Coordination Council meeting for Combating Drugs in Qom province: Currently, part of the province's capacities for treating and empowering individuals struggling with addiction is being utilized, and 500 people are covered in the Karamat camp.

Treatment and Empowerment Services for 700 Individuals

Heydari added: 200 more individuals are benefiting from neighborhood-based employment and empowerment projects, and in total, about 700 individuals are utilizing services related to treatment, rehabilitation, and empowerment through these programs.

The Deputy of Political and Security Affairs of Qom province continued: Addressing the issue of addiction should not be limited to the treatment phase, and after the treatment and rehabilitation period, the necessary conditions for individuals to return to normal life and reintegrate into society must also be provided.

Emphasis on Skill Training and Employment

Heydari emphasized that utilizing the capacities of skill training, employment, and social support can play a role in stabilizing the recovery process of individuals, and this aspect of the treatment and rehabilitation process must also be pursued vigorously.

He also referred to the visits conducted to the Karamat camp and stated: During these visits, the necessity of continuing the treatment process and preventing individuals from returning to the cycle of addiction has been emphasized.

The Deputy of Political and Security Affairs of Qom province added: The goal of utilizing existing capacities and the support provided by benefactors is not only to treat individuals but also to reduce social harms and create the possibility for their sustainable return to society.

He pointed out the activities carried out in the field of employment in the Karamat camp, stating: Alongside the treatment process, the issue of employment has also been addressed in this facility so that individuals can be empowered.

Heydari emphasized: The continuation of employment and empowerment programs can provide a dignified return for the recovering individuals to society, and it is essential that these actions continue alongside the treatment process.

In conclusion, he stressed the use of the capacities of executive agencies, benefactors, and community organizations in the field of treatment and rehabilitation, stating: Existing facilities should be utilized alongside new capacities to support this process.
