Seyed Ali Nazem-Rezavi stated in an interview with Iran X News that 43 percent of emergency room visitors at Beheshti Hospital in Kashan are due to accidents, fights, and work-related incidents. These patients are admitted to various departments, including orthopedics, surgery, urology, and intensive care, based on the type of injury.
Legal Follow-Up for Trauma Patients
Nazem-Rezavi added that trauma patients who are treated on an outpatient basis and discharged shortly are referred to forensic medicine for legal follow-up. For hospitalized patients, an initial forensic medical certificate is registered in the patient's file to document injuries and prevent the violation of their rights.

The Importance of Contacting Emergency Services in Accidents
A forensic medicine and toxicology specialist at Kashan University of Medical Sciences expressed that in the event of an accident or incident, injured individuals should not be transported in a private vehicle. It is necessary to contact emergency services at 115, as improper transportation may exacerbate spinal injuries and other damages, and can also create issues for insurance and legal follow-ups.
He identified the use of seat belts, helmets, and adherence to safe speed limits as three important factors in reducing the severity of injuries resulting from accidents. Nazem-Rezavi emphasized that wearing a helmet can prevent up to 80 percent of head and brain injuries, and buckling a seat belt also plays a significant role in reducing fatalities among passengers.
Safety Culture in Society
Nazem-Rezavi pointed out that accidents are considered one of the leading causes of death among individuals under 40 years old, noting that reducing speed, avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, and adhering to safety principles should become a public culture in society. He also stressed the importance of health examinations for drivers, stating that professional drivers and heavy vehicles should undergo periodic medical, vision, hearing, and neurological examinations.
He concluded by saying that high speed, not wearing seat belts, not using helmets, and using mobile phones while driving are significant factors in the occurrence of severe injuries and fatalities resulting from accidents, and adhering to these measures can prevent many incidents and disabilities arising from them.
