Fereydoun Majlesi, an international affairs expert, announced that Canada is deepening its relations with the European Union and distancing itself from the United States. This shift in approach has become essential, especially after Trump's behaviors and his policies that lead to increased tariffs.

Analysis of the Canadian Prime Minister's Behavior

Majlesi referred to the positions of the Canadian Prime Minister in his recent discussions, stating that he had presented views at the Munich Security Conference that indicated a different perspective on relations with the United States. These positions were evident in his historic speech where he compared Canada to Czechoslovakia in the face of the Soviet Union.

He added: The Canadian Prime Minister, as a rational figure and an expert in the economic field, stands against Trump, who, according to Majlesi, exhibits unusual and unethical behaviors in the world of trade. Trump, especially in expressing his ideas and perceptions, shows no gap between his mind and his words, and this has elicited various reactions regarding Canada as well.

The Necessity of Diversifying Economic Relations

Majlesi emphasized that Canada had previously made all its economic connections dependent on the United States and is now seeking to expand its relations with other countries. This shift in approach signifies a return to rationality and a correction of past mistakes. However, he stated that Canada cannot sever its ties with the United States, as the two countries have deep cultural and economic relations.

This international affairs expert asserted that Canada must seek to create diversity in its trade relations to safeguard itself from the repercussions of the trade policies of a specific country. In a situation where the United States is pursuing increased tariffs, the importance of this matter has become more pronounced. Majlesi also pointed to Canada's economic capacities in terms of relations with other countries, including South Korea and Japan.

Ultimately, this expert stressed that Iran should also learn from these changes and expand its economic relations with its neighbors. He stated that Iran can achieve diversity in its economic relations by utilizing the capacities of its neighbors and benefit from these relations.
