Hassan Qashqavi, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, discussed the factors influencing Iran's deterrence in an interview with the media and emphasized that as long as Iran does not achieve complete military and economic deterrence, security threats will continue to exist.
Military and Economic Deterrence
Qashqavi pointed out that the possibility of an attack on Iran exists at any moment, stating: "It is a reality that until Iran achieves military deterrence and attains complete deterrent power, the possibility of an attack exists at any moment." He also highlighted the importance of economic deterrence, adding that without achieving this goal, neutralizing sanctions will not be possible.

Continuation of Global Conflicts
The spokesperson for the National Security Commission stated that it does not seem that global conflicts will decrease and noted that these conflicts could include economic and media issues. Qashqavi pointed out that the global situation is not conducive to hoping for lasting peace. For example, he referred to the tensions and threats between the United States and its allies, stating that even countries close to the U.S., such as Canada, are under pressure.
He mentioned global competition over natural resources, energy, and minerals, saying: "The main cause of this situation is the conflict over resources; natural resources, corridors, and mines, especially rare minerals." According to Qashqavi, this issue is clearly observable in the case of Ukraine as well.
America's Condition for Aid to Ukraine
Qashqavi referred to the issue of Ukraine, stating: "When the U.S. wants to engage in the Ukraine issue, the discussion about $500 billion from Ukraine's mines is explicitly raised." He added that America's condition for aiding Zelensky is the exploitation of the resources of the Ukrainian people, which indicates the importance of competition over resources in global relations.
The spokesperson for the National Security Commission noted that a similar situation exists in other parts of the world, and economic and military wars are occurring due to competition over natural resources. He referred to the war in Venezuela, stating that this war is also being fought to seize the resources of that country.
Qashqavi concluded by emphasizing that the conflicts in the world are not only about democracy and national sovereignty, and that geopolitical and economic realities play a significant role in determining the fate of countries.
