Rahmatollah Darijani emphasized that Iran today is facing three simultaneous crises in foreign policy and must prevent their interconnection. Military conflict, the nuclear issue, and economic pressure are each significant challenges on their own, but if these crises become interconnected, controlling them will be much more difficult.
Interconnection of Crises and Upcoming Challenges
Darijani added that military conflict has its own logic and an attack may be met with a response. However, when this cycle expands to direct relations between Iran and the United States and the security of regional countries, the dangers will be significantly greater. In this case, countries that may prefer to remain neutral will be forced to factor their security and economy into their calculations.

He also referred to the nuclear issue and stated that this matter is related to cooperation with the agency and inspections. At the same time, economic pressure also affects the oil, banking, insurance, and trade sectors. In this situation, any incident in one of these areas can trigger the other two and lead to new crises.
Separation of Crises and Iran's Strategy
Darijani emphasized that Iran's strategy should focus on separating the crises. This does not mean ignoring the real connections between them, but rather efforts should be made to ensure that the crises do not turn into a single deal or war. The more issues that need to be resolved simultaneously, the more points of failure will increase. Therefore, simplifying issues and creating independent understandings can help sustain agreements longer.
He highlighted the importance of the Gulf countries, stating that these countries may not have the same interests as the United States and may wish to prevent the region from becoming a prolonged battlefield. In this regard, Iran's policy should be adjusted to increase the number of countries whose interests lie in staying out of the conflict.
Darijani concluded by saying that every decision made by Iran must be weighed against its political consequences and emphasized that foreign policy cannot merely become a series of reactions. This strategy should be shaped based on the position Iran wants to hold in the future.
