The Sajjadroud Dam is on the verge of entering the implementation phase, and necessary follow-ups for the sustainable provision of drinking water for Babol and surrounding cities are ongoing. Hassan Hassan Netaj, the representative of Babol in the Parliament, highlighted the importance of this project in an interview with Mehr News Agency, stating that efforts to bring this plan to fruition have borne fruit after years of follow-up.
The Necessity of Securing Sustainable Water Resources
Hassan Netaj emphasized that the Sajjadroud Dam is considered one of the key projects in the water sector of the region, saying: "Despite the objections raised at various stages regarding the implementation of this project, securing sustainable drinking water resources remains of high importance." He also stated that the follow-up process for realizing this plan will continue.

Compliance with Environmental Requirements
The representative of Babol referred to the essential need of the local population for sustainable water supply and said: "The project must be implemented in a way that fully complies with environmental requirements, natural resources, and technical standards." Hassan Netaj stressed that this action should be able to meet the goals of the plan and minimize harm to the environment.
He also announced that the Mazandaran Regional Water Company has completed the contractor selection process for the Sajjadroud Dam, and the project is now in the stage of specialized reviews by technical and commercial committees and contract exchange. Hassan Netaj added: "The public's expectation is that after the contract is finalized, the construction operations of the project will begin without interruption, and the implementation process will be continuously followed until completion and operation."
The Role of Sajjadroud Dam in Providing Drinking Water
This parliamentary representative further referred to the role of Sajjadroud Dam in strengthening the region's water resources, stating: "This dam, along with the Shahid Ayatollah Salehi Mazandaran Dam (Alborz), can compensate for part of the deficit in drinking water resources for Babol and the cities of Group A and help ensure the sustainability of water supply for these cities."
According to Mehr, given the importance of sustainable water resources for Babol and the cities of Group A, the implementation of water supply projects, including Sajjadroud Dam and Shahid Ayatollah Salehi Mazandaran Dam (Alborz), has recently been a focus for provincial and county officials.
