Seyyed Ahmad Shafiei Mazandarani, on Wednesday evening, introduced this art as one of the most important cultural heritages of Islamic Iran in the first session of a series of calligraphy educational gatherings at the Art House of Mazandaran. With over 40 years of artistic experience, he is striving to pass this valuable heritage on to future generations.
Teaching Calligraphy Techniques
Shafiei Mazandarani addressed various topics in this specialized workshop, including pen making, ink quality, paper preparation and finishing, and different calligraphy techniques. He explained educational points to the students through live demonstrations and answered their questions. This workshop was not only appealing and educational for novice students but also for veterans.
Presence of Enthusiasts from Various Age Groups
The presence of enthusiasts from various age groups, from teenagers to veterans, was a notable feature of this gathering. Participants with different skill levels attended this workshop and benefited from the experiences of Master Shafiei Mazandarani. According to the planning of the Visual Arts Center of the Art House of Mazandaran, this educational gathering is set to be held every two weeks to continue the education and transfer of experience to students.
Shafiei Mazandarani emphasized the importance of the art of calligraphy, noting that this art is not only a skill but also a tool for transmitting culture and Islamic values. He urged students to pay attention to the conduct and perspectives of past and contemporary masters of calligraphy to understand the depth of this art.
This workshop was held with the presence of a group of enthusiasts and calligraphy artists from across Mazandaran province, and Shafiei Mazandarani conducted a five-hour session focusing on practical training and explaining various aspects of the art of calligraphy. It is expected that holding these educational gatherings will play an effective role in enhancing the level of calligraphy art in the country.
