Social Security will soon restructure the country's healthcare system by signing a memorandum of understanding. Mohammad Ali Hemmati, the Deputy for Treatment of the Social Security Organization, announced that this memorandum has been signed with the Ministry of Health regarding the levels of the national family medicine program and referral system.
Coverage for 6 Million Insured Individuals
Hemmati added in this regard: "About 6 million insured individuals of Social Security in 64 cities will be covered under the family medicine plan and referral system." This initiative is designed to improve the quality of healthcare services and enhance the health level of the insured individuals.

Meeting the Requirements of the Plan and Existing Challenges
The Deputy for Treatment of the Social Security Organization also provided explanations regarding the law of obligation and its coordination with the referral system, the approved per capita, the assignment of insured individuals, and the establishment of the three levels of the family medicine program. He emphasized that complete communication between the systems of the Social Security Organization and the Ministry of Health will provide an opportunity to resolve issues in the healthcare sector.
Hemmati further referred to some actions in the healthcare sector, which include insurance coverage and treatment for infertility, continued services for special patients, and organizing comprehensive health care and assessment for the elderly. Additionally, the online consultation plan and the design of a long-term care model for the insured individuals are also included in these programs.
Challenges of Human Resources and Establishing Healthcare Centers
He pointed out the existing challenges in this area, addressing the provision of the requirements for the family medicine plan and referral system, ensuring human resources for the healthcare staff, especially in nursing, and improving the process of selecting and appointing individuals in managerial positions. Hemmati also announced a new idea in the field of establishing healthcare centers within the framework of the productivity of the Social Security Organization.
At the end, the Deputy for Treatment of the Social Security Organization emphasized the necessity of coordination, collaboration, and the required commitment in the provinces to realize the organization's programs and healthcare policies, stating: "Enhancing the quality of healthcare services with a continuous focus on quality, patient safety, adherence to treatment standards, and increasing productivity is among our priorities."
Hemmati also referred to the active management of human resources, identifying capable personnel, and readiness to face crises, emphasizing the guarantee of continuity of healthcare services and access for the insured individuals to services.
